History, Community, Pride
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) emerged from the Civil Rights Movement of the late 1960s as a response to the call for access and equity in higher education. As a result of this hard fought, student-led campaign, there is an EOP at all 23 California State University campuses today to provide support services for low income, first generation students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Since the passage of Senate Bill 1072 (the Harmer Bill), in April 1969, EOP has made a lasting impact in the lives of thousands of students who have graduated from the CSU. Through its commitment to providing access and innovative support services to thousands of underrepresented students each year, EOP remains a critical component of the California State University system.
At Cal Poly Pomona, we are proud to serve over 2,000 EOP students each academic year. Cal Poly Pomona EOP students represent a diverse group of students who are motivated, hard-working, and successful college students. With your help, we will be able to provide scholarship opportunities that support our student's success and build on our EOP legacy! During these trying times, any donation is appreciated - no matter the size. #ProudToBeEOP
Student Testimonials - EOP Alumni Class of 2019
"EOP has always been there along my journey to lend a helping hand when things got difficult. I am thankful for EOP and all those who have supported me to reach my college milestones."
"Graduating from college means hope for my future, but also hope for my family and community. With multiple resources, EOP has made graduating from college a reality. Most importantly, coming from a family where finances are scarce, EOP has supported me financially and that is something I will always be grateful for."
