Cal Poly Pomona's Women in Engineering Program (CPP WE) was established in 2012 to provide women the resources and supportive services to succeed in engineering. CPP WE serves women undergraduate and graduate students and faculty in the College of Engineering.
In collaboration with corporations, engineering alumni, University offices, faculty, and students, CPP WE has initiated a variety of activities, including WE Chats (departmentally based faculty mentoring workshops), WE Talk Alumnae Speaker Series (alumnae based career development workshops), and a variety of ambassador activities. These initiatives are extended to students and faculty throughout the college.
CPP WE is dedicated to creating a supportive community for engineering students and strives to inspire young girls to consider engineering as a possible career. Exposing young girls to the creativity and excitement of engineering through role models and hands-on activities is an excellent way to build their interest and self-confidence.
The Femineer Program provides K-12 students with project-based learning and engineering student mentors. The program engages participants through highly creative, hands-on activities. Femineers acquire the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to become confident and strong in their future careers. We hope to inspire many young girls to reach their potential through engineering!
