The Care Center is the first place to send students who are of concern or in distress. The Center connects students to resources they need to succeed (both on and off campus), support them through crises, provide advocacy, and offers Basic Needs services.
The staff and students of the Care Center would like to extend a special thank you to Ginny Mendes for matching the first $5,000 given to Basic Needs and awarding us another $5,000 once we reach our goal of 25 gifts!
By donating, your gift ensures students in need of the resources below can continue their education regardless of unforeseen hardships:
- Food Resources
- The Poly Pantry, CPP’s food pantry that serves students experiencing food insecurity, now offers a new and easier way to shop. Students register online, order what they need and pickup groceries in the Bronco Student Center at the scheduled selected time.
- The Care Center also provides assistance with CalFresh, where students receive direct support in completing, submitting, and preparing for a CalFresh application.
- Emergency Funds
- Students are eligible to apply for a one-time grant of up to $500 to assist with unforeseen emergencies, crises, or catastrophic events such as uninsured medical emergencies or displacement.
- Emergency Housing
- The Care Center works with University Housing Services (UHS) to provide students experiencing housing instability and/or displacement with short-term housing.

About the Poly Pantry
The Poly Pantry was established in 2019 by Associated Students, Inc. to serve students impacted by food insecurity. By providing access to fresh produce, canned and dry goods, personal care items, school supplies and referrals to campus and community-based resources, the Poly Pantry hopes to maximize student success.
The Poly Pantry is available on a weekly basis to all currently enrolled Cal Poly Pomona students who feel they are in need. As a customer-choice pantry, Broncos are empowered to shop for what they need and want, in order to meet their dietary needs.
Poly Pantry provides fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, grains, protein, canned vegetables, canned fruits, condiments, pre-packaged meals, snacks, school supplies, and personal care items, including menstrual.
Every $25 you give to the Poly Pantry can fund a bag of fresh produce and a full bag of groceries for one student!
