Bronco Racing: Baja SAE
Help Support our Bronco Racing Team!

What is Baja SAE?

Bronco Racing: Baja SAE is a student-led non-profit engineering organization that designs, manufactures, and races an off-road vehicle to compete against more than 150 national and international universities. Students who join Baja SAE are exposed to the full-length engineering design process and learn valuable skills including leadership, research, and communication. Team members are a part of a supportive community, a network of alumni, and sponsors with experience within the industry.

Current Circumstances

After two years of lockdown and the inability to manufacture, present, or test our vehicles, we have finally been given the opportunity to showcase our engineering feats this summer. From June 2 to June 6, we have a competition in Rochester, NY. That will require us to transport our team members, vehicles, and equipment upwards of 2650 miles each way. Our 2022 vehicle is nearing completion, but we still have a number of components to finish manufacturing. Due to changes in the global economy, which have resulted in inflated manufacturing costs across the board, our allocated budget is unable to completely cover our manufacturing costs. To give you an idea, the tubing for our chassis nearly tripled in price and the cost of our electrical components, used for data acquisition, increased on average by 60%.

Request for Support

We are participating in Giving Day to request support from donors to help fund the completion of our vehicle. It would help cover the cost of manufacturing of parts including but not limited to our data acquisition enclosures, wiring harness, CVT tuning components, powertrain guarding, gear boxes, brake components, body panels, materials for carbon fiber seat, safety equipment, material for machined parts, welding supplies and hardware. Every dollar contributed helps us reach our goal and spreading the word to others would make a difference as well. After coming out as the top team in California in last year's virtual design competition, we are excited to show the world once again what CPP has to offer. Our team has worked nonstop since September to complete the manufacturing of our vehicle. So please show your support and donate today.
