The Basic Needs Program at Cal Poly Pomona makes a significant difference for students in need of essentials like food, housing, case-management, emergency funds, and more. Meeting each of these needs are vital for a student’s academic success, health, and well-being.
By donating, your gift ensures students in need of the resources below can continue their education regardless of unforeseen hardships:
- Food Resources
- The Poly Pantry, CPP’s food pantry that serves students experiencing food insecurity, has pivoted during the pandemic to offer a new and easy way to shop. Students now register online, place an order, and pick up groceries on campus at a scheduled time.
- The Basic Needs Program also provides meal assistance, allowing students in need to receive meal swipes valid at the Centerpointe dining hall and/or other dining facilities on campus, as well as CalFresh outreach, where students receive direct assistance in completing, submitting, and preparing for a CalFresh application.
- Emergency Funds
- Students are eligible to apply for a one-time grant of up to $500 to assist with unforeseen emergencies, crises, or catastrophic events such as uninsured medical emergencies or displacement.
- Emergency Housing
- The Basic Needs Program works with University Housing Services (UHS) to provide students experiencing housing instability and/or displacement with short-term housing
If you are a student in need of basic needs resources, or other Broncos Care services, please submit the Basic Needs Intake Form, which can be found here.
