The Clothes Closet is operated by the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center. The Career Clothes Closet provides students with the proper and professional clothing attire needed for an interview, a career fair, a conference, or for the first week of work. The attire is generously donated from faculty, staff, alumni, and employers to help students succeed!
We accept professional attire in order to maintain stock in the Clothes Closet. We ask the professional clothing donations be in ready to wear condition with no stains, odors, tears, or missing buttons. Items that may be donated include matching suit-jacket, blazers, sport coats, collared shirts, long sleeve dress shirts, polo shirts, knee-length or longer dresses, skirts. Long or short sleeve blouses, suit jackets, pants. Dress shoes, ties, belts, jewelry and other accessories such as scarves, belts and purses.
Why are monetary donations necessary?
Because clothes donations do not always provide attire that fits every student, some students at Cal Poly have found difficulty finding professional attire in their size. This is why monetary donations are essential to ensuring that we can provide attire for every student at Cal Poly--for every gender, for every size, and of every style.
With your help we will be able to expand our closet in an effort to support our students who have trouble finding professional clothing.
Student Testimonial
"As an individual who greatly appreciates the ability to personalize fashion, and excels one's presence based on their own willingness to explore different combinations of styles, visiting the clothes closet allows me to select at no cost, various unique men's attire accessories to make my wardrobe more versatile. The time and effort that one takes into presenting themselves properly is a strong indication of the amount of self-respect and dignity they have and the clothes closet helps in both of these departments. Thank you Clothes Closet!" -Albert Fattal
