The Huntley College of Agriculture is the founding college of Cal Poly Pomona and an integral aspect of its identity and heritage. Since the beginning, we have been known for residing in Los Angeles County, the most populated county in the nation with over 10 million people, and close to the second-largest U.S. city. We are committed to the development and support of urban agriculture and sustainable food, agriculture, and related systems in California. 

FEATURED DEPARTMENT: Agribusiness & Food Industry Management

The Agribusiness & Food Industry Management program prepares students to take on leadership roles in agribusiness as well as the food industry. One of our learn by doing activities is participating in agri-food intercollegiate competitions. These competitions require our students to make presentations to judges who are industry representatives. Another signature activity is for students to engage in research projects with faculty. These projects typically result in presentations at conferences or research symposia. We are raising funds for uniforms for our competitive teams and travel expenses for students and advisors to attend competitions, trade shows, conferences, and research symposia. 

IMPACT OF YOUR GIFT

More than 30 percent of our students depend on need-based scholarships or grants to realize their dreams of a polytechnic education. We aim to provide that opportunity to even more students by increasing our scholarship awards each year.

Also, since over 70% of CPP graduates remain in the area, a gift to Huntley is ultimately an investment in Southern California! Our orchards, greenhouses, vineyards, a large urban farm with organic certified acreage, animal units and laboratories, veterinary clinic, food science laboratories, experimental kitchens, and digital apparel design, provide hands-on experiences for our students under Cal Poly Pomona’s “learn by doing” philosophy.
