WHO WE ARE

The California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (CPP ASCE) provides essential value to our members and partners, advances civil engineering, and serves the public good by offering opportunities through competitions, industry exposure, networking, philanthropy, social events, scholarships, leadership & professional development.

ROAD TO HOSTING PSWS 2025

The Pacific Southwest Symposium (PSWS) is an annual event that gives civil engineering students from 14 different universities the chance to compete in various technical and non-technical competitions. With that being said, we are extremely excited to announce that CPP ASCE will have the honor of hosting the PSWS in 2025! Overall, we are expecting a budget of $250,000 and more than 1,000 students in attendance. Although we will be hosting this event, we still plan on bringing our all to the competition and showcasing just how amazing CPP students are. This year, we were ecstatic to place third overall in the competition and are excited to aim even higher next year.

The technical events we plan to host are listed below.

  • Steel Bridge
  • Concrete Canoe
  • Sustainable Solutions
  • UESI Surveying
  • Timber-Strong Design Build
  • Technical Paper
  • Transportation
  • Environmental Design
  • GeoWall
