“Learn by Doing” is the Cal Poly Pomona motto, and we embrace learning by doing in music, especially in our Music Industry Studies program. Every Music Industry student must complete an internship, a quintessentially learn-by-doing activity.
The best time for students to do internships is during the summer season when they aren’t working or in classes all day. However, since students have to be enrolled in a class to do internships that means students have to be enrolled in summer school. Summer school can create a financial burden on students who might need to cut their work hours or will not receive aid during summer.
Most internships in music only offer unpaid experiences for college credit which is where you come in! Help support Music students participate in one of the most important activities during their college experience by helping to alleviate financial hardship and the stress that comes with it.
