Women in Science & Engineering (WiSE)
Thank you for supporting our students!

SUPPORT THE WiSE PROGRAM

The Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) program at Cal Poly Pomona promotes a close community through proactive retention activities and seeks to create an environment in which all students can thrive in the classroom and beyond.

Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) was established in 2021 as part of the Cal Poly Pomona STEM Success Network.  Originally the Women in Engineering (WE) program, WiSE provides resources and support services for students to succeed in STEM, focusing on retention efforts and environment enhancement programs.  The program strives to recruit students into the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, foster mentorship between current students and alumni, and retain and graduate students through care, support, and empowerment.  WiSE promotes a close community for students to thrive in the classroom, in their careers, and beyond.

THE IMPACT OF YOUR GIFT

Your support will help us expand our program to include engineering students and science students. The program is a great opportunity for participants to increase their self-confidence, build a sense of belonging within the engineering and science community, and grow their network with engineering and science professionals.  Exposing students to the creativity and excitement of STEM through campus activities and role models is an excellent way to build confidence in their capacity within the STEM field.

One of our joint programs with Maximizing Engineering Potential (MEP) is "Engineering In Your Future" or EIYF.  It is designed to acclimate new students to college life by providing academic and cultural tools that will prepare them for long-term success. With over 80% of our students receiving need-based aid and 90% who are first in the family to attend college, WiSE seeks funding support for the summer program.  Your gift will help fund students' EIYF overnight stay at Cal Poly Pomona,  branded WiSE giveaways, recruitment scholarships, and BroncoBucks.

EVERY GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

On behalf of WiSE, we appreciate any contributions that are made this Giving Day.  Thank you for fostering our students' success!
