Preserve the Stories That Define Cal Poly Pomona - and the Heritage Connected to It
Cal Poly Pomona’s history spans generations. Since its founding, the university has shaped leaders, industries, and communities across California and beyond.
Many of its most meaningful moments were captured on film, videotape, and recorded sound. Today, more than 1,000 of these recordings are at risk.
Housed within the University Library, Special Collections and Archives preserves these materials, which document the traditions that define our campus and region — from historic commencement ceremonies and Rose Float achievements to Bronco Athletics, presidential leadership, the internationally recognized Arabian horse program rooted in the W.K. Kellogg Ranch, Southern California’s agricultural and wine industries, and the cultural, political, and community history that surrounds them.
These recordings exist on dated and obsolete media that is actively deteriorating, and the equipment needed to access them is disappearing.
Without timely digitization, the voices, celebrations, and milestones that shaped generations of Broncos may be permanently lost.
Your support helps the University Library safeguard these irreplaceable stories and ensure they remain accessible for future generations.
Because once they are gone, they cannot be recreated.
When Broncos give, Broncos preserve.
